A 1986 Card Collectors 1951 Bowman Reprint baseball card of Cloyd Boyer. The back of card number 228 in the set reads, "Cloyd Boyer Pitcher - St. Louis Cardinals Born: Jasper, Mo., Sept. 1, 1927 Height: 6-1 Weight: 190 Bats: Right Throws: Right Even up at 7 and 7 in 36 games for the Cardinals in 1950. After graduating from high school, Cloyd showed what he could do in a tryout camp, and got a contract with Lynchburg of the Piedmont League. But he soon entered the service. Returned to baseball in 1947. That season he fanned 239 batters in 228 innings. In 1948 his 188 strikeouts led Texas League. With Rochester, 1949.
