A 1978 1948 Bowman reprint baseball card of Yogi Berra. The back of card number 6 in the set reads, "6 - Larry (Yogi) Berra Catcher - N. Y. Yankees Born : St. Louis, Mo. 1925 Bats : Left Throws : Right Height : 5 : 8 Weight : 180 A "sand lot" boy from Missouri, one of baseball's most colorful players. First played with Norfolk. After two war service years, joined the Newark Bears in 1946 to play in 77 games, hit 15 homers, batted in 59 runs and built an average of .314. He joined the Yanks at the end of that season to appear in 7 games. Last year he caught 83 games. Batting average was .280.
