A 1978 1948 Bowman reprint baseball card of Johnny Mize. The back of card number 4 in the set reads, "4 - Johnny Mize First Base - New York Giants Born : Demorest, Ga. Jan. 7, 1913 Bats : Left Throws : Right Height : 6 : 02 Weight : 215 With a lifetime batting average of .328 he swings the heaviest bat in the National League. Tied with Ralph Kiner to lead all players with 51 home runs last year. He is the only National Leaguer who has 4 times hit 3 homes [sic] runs in one game. He spent three years in the Navy.
