Gordon Janis
/in /by adminGordon Janis is a first-time contributor to the BioProject. He remembers his childhood heartbreak when the Mets traded his idol Tom Seaver for a Farrah Fawcett poster, a pack of pop rocks, a bu alo nickel, and dryer lint. That stinging disappointment combined with his frequent attendance at Yankee Stadium with his season ticket-holding uncle turned his loyalties to the Bronx Bombers. He was on hand to witness Reggie Jackson’s magical night of three first-pitch home runs in Game Six of the 1977 World Series. An avid lifelong baseball card collector, he is glad he acquired his childhood neighbor’s entire collection of 1973-74 baseball cards in exchange for his own collection of Wacky Packages. He currently lives in Alexandria, Virginia and enjoys attending Nats games with his daughter who was born the same year baseball returned to the nation’s capital.
