Jason Scheller

JASON SCHELLER is a professor of history at Vernon
College in Wichita Falls, Texas. His graduate work has been
featured in the books The Empire Strikes Out: How Baseball Sold
U.S. Foreign Policy and Promoted the American Way Abroad, by
Robert Elias and The Boys Who Were Left Behind: The 1944 World
Series Between the Hapless St. Louis Browns and the Legendary St.
Louis Cardinals, by John Heidenry and Brett Topel. He joined
the Dallas-Fort Worth Banks-Bragan chapter of SABR in
2018. His interests are in World War II baseball, Negro League
baseball, the minor leagues and the Boston Red Sox. He enjoys
attending minor-league games throughout the country with
his wife and daughter each summer. A Red Sox fan since 1986,
he follows them every season and relishes the opportunity to
attend games at Fenway Park whenever he gets a chance. This
is his first publication for SABR.
