Jax Marn made a very interesting presentation on the topic of the catching position in modern baseball. Jax, who caught in high school and junior college, is now a student at FSU. After an introduction Jax spoke of statistical analysis, a case study, his own college experience and practice plan, and he drew several conclusions regarding the art and science of playing the catcher position past, present, and future. He responded to questions from the audience.
Baseball’s latest craze, the Torpedo Bat, was discussed and deconstructed.
A count was taken of the Chapter members planning to attend the TSC games this coming weekend.
Members were reminded of the approaching deadline to register for SABR 53 in Dallas this summer. Early Bird prices on hotel rooms and registration will soon expire.
After further discussion, the meeting adjourned at 8 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
