SABR Member Benefit Spotlight: Vote for All-Time Eras Teams
APRIL 23, 2026 — As a SABR member, you have vast resources and benefits at your disposal. With so much information at your fingertips, we realize it can be overwhelming to absorb it all! To highlight key benefits, read on for a SABR Member Benefit Spotlight, an email series that identifies and explains some of the most valuable features of your membership. We hope this allows you to take full advantage of all SABR has to offer. Today’s issue will cover how to vote for SABR’s All-Time Eras Teams this summer.
ALL-TIME ERAS TEAMS
Voting is now open for SABR’s All-Time Eras Teams! Throughout the 2026 season, SABR members will be able to vote for players across six different eras who make up an all-time elite team for that era. Help us celebrate the 150 years of baseball and American history since the founding of the National League in 1876 by voting for your favorite players at every position on the diamond, as well as the top manager and executive from that era.
Each ballot period will culminate with a virtual Zoom webinar which includes a presentation covering that era of American history prior to the unveiling of the team chosen by SABR members like you. Teams will be divided among the following time frames and voting periods:
- 19th Century Era (1876–1900)
Deadball Era (1901–1919)
Voting is open through May 4; teams revealed on May 13 with a presentation by Brian M. Ingrassia of West Texas A&M University
- Segregation Era (1920–1946)
Voting begins May 29; team revealed on June 24 with a presentation by Seth S. Tannenbaum of Manhattanville University
- Integration Era (1947–1972)
Voting begins July 24; team revealed on August 18 with a presentation by author Howard Bryant
- Free Agency Era (1973–2000)
Voting begins August 21; team revealed on September 16 with a presentation by Daniel A. Gilbert of the University of Illinois
- Modern Era (2001-2025)
Voting begins October 2; team revealed in late October with presentation TBA
All you need to participate is a valid SABR membership! Click here to ensure your membership is in good standing so you don’t miss out on a single vote.
How To Cast Your Vote:
- Sign into your profile to be able to access the ballot.
- On our All-Time Eras Teams homepage, click on the available era you wish to vote for.
- Scroll down to the blue survey box and click Next.
- Click on the player you wish to vote for. Be sure to select the correct amount of players per position or the ballot will not let you move onto the next page. If you need more information about the player, click on SABR bio to be taken to the player’s BioProject article, or click on view stats to be taken to the player’s Baseball Reference page.
- Click Done on the last page when you’re finished with your votes. You can click on the Previous button to go back and change any of your votes before you officially submit your ballot.
Please note you can only vote once per era!
