The Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) is celebrating the 38th anniversary of its founding on August 10, 1971, by offering selected items of apparel and publications at 38% off regular prices.

Among the items on sale are Deadball Stars of the American League, Deadball Stars of the National League, and SABR logo polos.

Although not currently on sale, SABR 39 Logo t-shirts from the just concluded SABR convention in Washington, DC are now available for sale to the general public.

Sixteen founders of SABR gathered at the Hall of Fame Library in Cooperstown, meeting the day after Satchel Paige was inducted into the Hall. Today there are more than 6,400 members from all over the world, sharing their love for the history of the game.

SABR’s many accomplishments over the past 38 years include publishing more than six dozen books and journals, conducting the research behind many changes to the statistical record such as Ty Cobb’s career hit total and Hack Wilson’s RBI total in 1930; building databases such as the SABR Baseball Index, a bibliographic citation database of over 220,000 records, and the minor league statistical database, now available through Baseball-Reference.com, and bringing together a community of baseball researchers.
