SABR Adds Jim Cassandro, Deborah Jayne to Staff
SABR is pleased to announce the hiring of Jim Cassandro as the Director of Operations and Deborah Jayne as the Director of Membership Services.
Jim joins SABR after working in the fields of professional baseball, healthcare, and academia. During his time in baseball, Jim worked in the front office of the Arizona Diamondbacks as the Director of Research for Baseball Operations and Marketing. His initial work assisted leadership in the valuation of players (professional and amateur), trade scenarios, free agents, and player projections, as well as contract structuring, and arbitration. He expanded this approach to enhance the organization’s marketing and corporate sales efforts by providing strategic analyses of their multi-faceted fan base. Most recently, Jim worked in the healthcare field as the Director of Market Research for TriWest Healthcare Alliance, a major Department of Defense contractor which administers the TRICARE benefit to military personnel and retirees; and also as a Senior Data Analyst with the HSM Group, an international research consulting firm. Jim also spent 10 years in academia as a professor of Psychology, researcher, and data analyst. He has a Ph.D in Psychology and M.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Davis, and a B.A. in Psychology from University of California, Santa Cruz.
Deb was the Director of Membership for the Arizona Association for Economic Development and the Marketing and Events Director for Arizona Solar Power. She has 15-plus years of performance in sales and marketing, and has worked with technology-based companies. In addition to serving as a Director of Membership and an Events Director — two areas in which she will play a major role for SABR — Deb has developed and executed marketing and business plans that resulted in successful projects for major financial and commercial accounts. She volunteers in the community on a regular basis and currently resides on the Maricopa County Foster Care Review Board No. 3. Deb attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Although she grew up in Portland, Oregon, she credits her father for turning her into a lifelong Yankees fan.
Deb started on March 28 and Jim will start on April 4.
