Please also consider joining SABR member Tyrone Brooks and the Baseball Industry Network at the annual Baseball Industry Network Baseball Winter Meetings Morning Meet-Up on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. in the Dolphin Hotel Lobby Lounge (third level.)

This has become a great annual tradition for the Baseball Industry Network to bring together our members for a bit of networking and also helping out a good cause in the process. The Dolphin Lobby Lounge has a café there which will allow our members to network and mingle over coffee or morning treat. Part of the reason for the early start is that many members of various front offices can use this early time slot to screen candidates for openings before they head into meetings for the day.

This year, we have the great fortune to help a local cause in the form of the Orlando Monarchs baseball program, a program created by Rickie Weeks Sr. Mr. Weeks, whose sons Rickie and Jemile currently play in the major leagues, created the Orlando Monarchs baseball program to provide more opportunities for kids wishing to pursue the game. The Orlando Monarchs are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that tries to enrich our young children’s lives through the game of baseball. You can read more about the Orlando Monarchs by going to www.orlandomonarchsbaseball.com.

There is no cost to attend the morning meet-up, but like in past years, Tyrone is asking attendees to make a generous donation ($5-$20) which will be earmarked for the Orlando Monarchs program, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization started by Rickie Weeks Sr. that tries to enrich our young children’s lives through the game of baseball. Even if you are unable to attend, your kind donation will definitely help these young kids in their pursuit of playing our great game.

For convenience and since space is limited, please RSVP at http://binorlando1210.eventbrite.com by the end of the day on Monday, December 9, 2013.

If you wish to volunteer and assist us with the Baseball Industry Network Baseball Winter Meetings Morning Meet-Up, please email SABR member Mark Smith at msmith@oaklandathletics.com.
