This week is the 40th anniversary of the infamous Midnight Massacre, where the Mets traded stars Tom Seaver and Dave Kingman, and journeyman Mike Phillips in the span of a few hours in three different trades.
Mike and Bill look at Seaver’s illustrious career, what led up to the breakup between Seaver and the Mets, and what happened after that to the Mets and to his new club, the Cincinnati Reds.
