Rosecrans: Exactly when does a game with no hits turn into a no-hit bid?

I​ was at home Saturday night when​ I​ saw Matt Harvey​ hadn’t given ​ up a hit through​ four​ innings​​ — and knew I had to keep an eye on it.

My wife, daughter and I were about to leave to grab dinner, but it was at that point I said I had to monitor this.

After Harvey got through the fifth, I started planning — if he got through six, I had to go to the ballpark.

I texted my old partner on the beat, Zach Buchanan: “So, at what point do you get nervous about a no-hitter for a game you’re not at?”

He responded: “Haha well, I left dinner with my wife and mother when Patrick Corbin took one into the seventh. By the time I got to our house to grab my shit, he’d lost it.”

I decided it was two times through the order, so we’d take separate cars or wait until after the sixth. In the bottom of the fifth, I showered and watched the top of the sixth with two shirts on my bed — a collared shirt for going to the ballpark and a T-shirt for dinner.
