Charles H. Martin
/in /by adminCharles H. Martin is a contracts and business lawyer, a former law school professor, and the author of Lawyerball: The Courtroom Battle of the Orioles Against the Nationals and MLB for the Future of Baseball. His reporting on this endless cable television litigation by Peter Angelos, the owner of the Baltimore Orioles, severely reduces the time he has available for his other writing projects. Mr. Martin joined SABR in 2016. He was a committed expansion Washington Senators fan until 1971, when they were moved to Texas. His grandfather worked from the 1920s until 1960 as a vendor at Griffith Stadium, the home of the American League Washington Senators, and the part-time home of the Negro National League Homestead Grays. He believes in third-time charms and in the eventual championship of the Washington Nationals, but he is not making any deals on this with anyone named Mr. Applegate.
