Anthony Escobedo
/in /by Jacob PomrenkeAnthony (Tony) Escobedo, a SABR member since 2018, grew up in Belleville, Illinois, just across the river from St. Louis. His first recollection of baseball was being allowed to watch the Cardinals and Game Seven of the 1964 World Series on TV at elementary school. After that he rarely missed a Cardinals game on KMOX radio with Harry Caray and Jack Buck. Tony received his doctoral degree in education from the University of Virginia. He retired in 2019 after working for the Federal Bureau of Investigation for 40 years, including more than 20 years as an instructor at the FBI Academy. Nowadays, Tony spends most of his free time helping with his grandson and working on his many different hobbies, including a rather large St. Louis sports memorabilia collection.
