Clarence Watkins

Clarence Watkins is a native of Memphis, Tennessee, and a graduate of Memphis State University. He is a lifelong baseball fan having traveled the Southeast for the past 30 years researching the teams of the old Southern Association League. Clarence is the co-founder of the Southern Association Baseball Conference. He is a research member of the Negro Southern League Museum in Birmingham, Alabama and, on the Board of Directors of The Friends of Rickwood. Clarence is also a member of SABR. He is the author of Baseball in Birmingham and Baseball in Memphis. He was a presenter at the 2010 SABR National Convention in Atlanta and the Jerry Malloy Negro League Conference in Birmingham. Clarence recently finished his third Arcadia book, Baseball in Montgomery.
