An expert on Christy Mathewson’s early baseball career, Keith wrote many baseball articles for The Sporting News from 1950-75 and continued writing for the Baseball Research Journal thereafter. He was the recipient of the SABR Salute in 1988, honoring his contributions to SABR. He was a longtime sportswriter and editor for the Wayne Independent newspaper in Pennsylvania and, in 1973, he published the 260-page Wayne County Sports History.
