Mark Shirk
/in /by Bill NowlinMark Shirk grew up in central Pennsylvania as a Yankees fan. He has a PhD in government and politics from the University of Maryland and has taught international relations at Stonehill College, the University of Cambridge (UK), and Bucknell University among others. He is current- ly a consultant living in Catonsville, Maryland. He has been a SABR member since 2020 and is a Yankees fan living in Orioles country with his wife, his dog, and two children. He has developed a research interest in Negro League players who did not have American or National League careers after Negro Leagues fell apart. He has written the SABR bio of Marvin Williams and a story about Bus Clarkson’s National League debut for the SABR Games Project.
