Vanessa Ivy Rose is the granddaughter of Baseball Hall of Famer and Negro Leagues great Turkey Stearnes. She is the author of Hall of Fame DNA: The Legacy of Norman “Turkey” Stearnes; a host of the ABC News podcast Reclaimed: The Forgotten League; an educator; and a former Division I collegiate athlete from Detroit, Michigan. She has worked in public education for nearly two decades, teaching English and history. She continues to honor her grandfather’s legacy through Hall of Fame DNA.
