Bob Broeg St. Louis Chapter meeting recap – 11/18/2013
Eighteen members attended the November 18, 2013, monthly roundtable of the Bob Broeg SABR St. Louis Chapter. The event was in its usual location, the Original Crusoe’s in South St. Louis.
Members discussed a number of issues, including the recent voting for player and manager of the year awards in MLB. Discussion included expanding the number of eligible voters to go beyond members of the Baseball Writers Association of America.
Other discussion topics included current owners and the Cardinals’ ongoing desire for a shortstop.
The next monthly roundtable will be Tuesday, December 17.
The Bob Broeg Chapter plans to host its annual Hot Stove League meeting on Saturday, January 18, at Mike Shannon’s Steaks and Seafood near Busch Stadium. Details, including time and guest speaker, are still being formulated. That date was selected because it occurs on the weekend of the Cardinals’ Winter Warmup and the annual St. Louis Baseball Writers Dinner.
