The Bob Broeg St. Louis Chapter serves the St. Louis area. The chapter’s regular monthly meetings are held at the Sports Café in Bridgeton, MO (3579 Pennridge Dr.) Members can arrive at any time after 5:00 p.m. with the business portion of the meeting kicking off at 6:45 p.m. There is no fee to attend and you don’t need to be a SABR member. The 2020 regular meeting dates are January 15, March 2, April 13, May 19, June 15, July 27, August 17, October 12, November 17, and December 14.
We also have an informal get together the first Wednesday of most months at Lester’s Sports Bar and Grill, 9906 Clayton Road in Ladue. Again, plan to arrive any time after 5 p.m. for some baseball talk. The dates for those meetings in 2019 are March 6, April 3, May 1, July 2 (Tue), August 7, September 4, October 2, November 6, and December 4. No fee to attend (other than the cost of your meal) and you don’t have to be a member of SABR.
We also have three special events scheduled for 2020:
On February 1, we will host our annual Hot Stove event on SABR Day 2020. We’ll have a luncheon with special guests at Favazza’s on the Hill. There will be a fee to attend this event. Visit SABR.org/sabrday for more details.
On April 25, we’ll celebrate the Negro Leagues’ 100th anniversary at Harris Stowe Stars Park. More details to come.
On September 19, we host our sixth annual Jim Rygelski Baseball Research Conference at Webster University. This year we hope to have both oral presentations and poster presentations and we’ll present Jim Rygelski awards to the best oral presentation and the best poster presentation about baseball.
