Boston Chapter MLK Day meeting recap – 1/18/2016
The SABR Boston Chapter held its annual MLK Day meeting on January 18, 2016, at The Baseball Tavern in Boston.
We had the pleasure of hearing from Gordon Edes, who was recently named the new Red Sox historian. We also had a presentation by SABR Vice President Bill Nowlin on Sam Jethro, a stats presentation by Andy Andres on “Positional Adjustments for WAR,” a presentation by WBZ’s Donna Halper on the first Red Sox broadcast, and we heard from writer Alex Speier of the Boston Globe. We also talked about SABR’s soon-to-be-published 1986 Red Sox-Mets book.
