Buck O’Neil/North Florida Chapter meeting recap – 5/6/2026
Members and guests of the SABR Buck O’Neil/North Florida Chapter gathered on May 6, 2026, at Casa Grande Margaritas & Cocina in Midtown Tallahassee for their monthly meeting. Those in attendance included:

In the leadoff spot, President Hudson reviewed the status of our local teams, including Baseball and Softball at FSU, FAMU, and TSC.
Next up, Veep Tom Richardson offered a graphic showing the status of the Chapter’s annual prediction contest. Ben Gaddis and John Dew lead with 14 points each but, as the saying goes, it’s early yet.
Our attention then turned to new rules of the Major League game and in particular the ABS appeal system for reviewing balls and strikes calls. President Hudson and Chuck Rosciam pointed to shortcomings in the system to argue that the system was not a solid idea.
In light of recent issues with our venue, the final subject of the meeting was finding an alternative site for future meetings.
After further discussion the meeting was adjourned.
