Gardner-Waterman Vermont Chapter meeting recap – 7/8/2018
The Gardner-Waterman Chapter of SABR had a successful outing at the Vermont Lake Monsters game on Sunday, July 8, 2018.
Before the game, a cohort from our chapter met with Frank Fanning, the Lake Monsters’ Director of Team Operations. Frank (the son of former Montreal Expos GM Jim Fanning) discussed the history of the franchise, the day-to-day operations of the team, and the Lake Monsters’ relationship with their parent organization (The Oakland A’s). He presented to our group for about 20 minutes and answered nearly 45 minutes worth of questions.
Unfortunately, the Lake Monsters fell 5-2 to the Connecticut Tigers but a fine time was had by all.
