Larry Dierker Chapter meeting recap – 8/14/2021
On Saturday, August 14, 2021, the Larry Dierker Chapter met at Constellation Field in Sugar Land, Texas, to watch the Skeeters (Houston Astros AAA club) host the Albuquerque Isotopes (Colorado Rockies AAA club). Twenty-one members and guests, including our Chapter’s namesake, Larry Dierker, enjoyed a very pleasant evening of buffet dining and open air baseball.
Mike McCroskey, who organized the event, arranged for Ryan Posner to speak to us prior to the game. Ryan is the Skeeters’ Director of Media Relations. After describing the wide variety of responsibilities that comprise his work, he answered a number of questions from our group. The movement of players back and forth from the Major League club to AAA, those in and out for rehab assignments, and those called up from AA are all factors that make for a fast-paced environment.
Once again, we are appreciative of Mike McCroskey’s efforts and of the generous response from the Skeeters front office team to provide speakers.
