Magnolia Chapter mock HOF vote – 12/5/2011

The Magnolia/Georgia Chapter has spoken: According to our members, NONE of the “Golden Era” Veterans Committee candidates deserves induction into the hallowed Baseball Hall of Fame.

Ron Santo received the most support from chapter electors, receiving 68 percent of the vote (17 of 25 ballots cast). Nineteen votes were necessary for election.

Gil Hodges received 13 votes (52%); Jim “Kitty” Kaat received 11 votes (44%). Mickey Lolich received one write-in vote.

A total of 25 electors cast ballots; an average of 2.68 candidates were selected. The number of candidates selected ranged from “None” (1 elector) to 8 (1 elector selected all 8 players nominated).
