Frank “Shag” Shaughnessy Chapter (Ottawa/Eastern Ontario)
The Frank “Shag” Shaughnessy Chapter serves baseball fans in the Ottawa-Gatineau region, Eastern Ontario, and Western Quebec.
Our chapter has its own specific goals, which complement SABR’s overall mission:
- Grow the love of baseball: We aim to increase interest and participation in baseball and research related to the sport in the region. This includes encouraging membership in our chapter.
- Build a local baseball community: We will provide opportunities for people in the greater Ottawa area to learn about, discuss, and celebrate baseball history, fandom, and research.
- Collaborate with others: We will work with other SABR chapters, baseball organizations, clubs, and teams to promote baseball and research in the area.
- Connect with SABR events: We will advertise and help members attend SABR events and conferences.
- Partner with Carleton University: We will maintain a partnership with Carleton University to support our mission.
