South Florida Chapter meeting recap – 10/6/2012

The South Florida Chapter held its annual Fall Meeting at their home base, the Tamarac Public Library Multi-Purpose Room, on October 6, 2012. The audience was regaled by our keynote speaker, Carol McKechnie-Montgomery, daughter of Hall of Fame manager Bill McKechnie. She shared some anecdotes from her recent book, “The Deacon’s Daughter”.

Lou Hernandez presented on his book “The Rise of the Latin American Baseball Leagues: 1947-1961,” and Pete Palmer shared his thoughts on his statistical research on run-scoring potential.

In addition, Jerry Garte challenged our SABR members and visitors with a trivia contest.
