Sweet Lou Johnson Lexington Chapter meeting recap – 4/18/2020

Recap: April 18, 2020 Skype Meeting

The Sweet Lou Johnson Lexington Chapter of SABR met via Skype on Saturday April 18 at 2 pm.

We had four members join us: Cindy Baker, Robert Tannenbaum, Nic Loiacono, and Joe Cox.

Members enjoyed trying to trip each other up with complex trivia questions.

We had a short conversation about baseball books. Cindy Baker said that her favorite book by member Joe Cox is “Almost Perfect”. However, Cox’s book “A Fine Team Man: Jackie Robinson and the Lives He Touched” is very relevant at this time of year. Members discussed a website that we’ve used to purchase used paperback books: www.thriftbooks.com. This is particularly relevant since libraries are used due to the coronavirus. Bob, Nic, and Joe all recommended “The Glory of their Times”.

Finally, we discussed the likelihood that we will have baseball this year. Only one member had hope that we’ll actually see Major League Baseball in 2020.

Everyone agreed that meeting by Skype went well and that they were glad to spend time thinking and talking baseball.
