Join SABR’s Give Local Campaign Today!
As SABR strives to become the essential community for the world of baseball, our amazing chapters, research committees and communities of interest continue to promote our great game and share our passion for baseball’s past, present and future.
In 2021, SABR launched its Local Grants Program, delivering mission-focused funding to chapters and committees for projects concentrating on one or more of SABR’s four pillars: Research, Preservation, Scholarship, and Future of the Game. During our Give Local campaign, we’ll proudly share some of the stories of our inaugural group of Local Grants recipients and how they will put these funds to work in their communities.
By joining our Give Local campaign, you will help support SABR’s general operation and fund more of our members’ amazing work on the local level.
While seven projects initiated by SABR chapters across the country received Local Grants for 2022, there were many more worthy applications submitted that we were unable to fund in the first year of the program.
You can join the Give Local campaign by making a gift of at least $100 by June 10, 2022. We will use your best gift of $100, $300, $500, or $1,000 to ensure we are able to expand our Local Grants Program and boost initiatives that focus on our key principles. Here are some examples of local projects supporting each of the four pillars:
- Research: Creation of research committee databases, digitization of research files/notes, support of chapter research projects
- Scholarship: Research committee or regional research symposiums, chapter or research committee websites, tools/resources to activate local Baseball Memories programs
- Preservation: Grave markers for notable baseball figures, commemorative plaques for historic baseball sites, restoration or maintenance of preexisting baseball landmarks
- Future of the Game: Regional or committee-focused award programs, membership marketing efforts, funding for school partnership programs
Members like you are integral to our nonprofit’s existence and we are hopeful you will consider a donation to increase our efforts to give back, encourage baseball research, and sustain our wonderful baseball community.
To direct your donation towards projects in one of SABR’s four pillars, please fill in the “Earmark Donation” field with the name of the desired pillar (Research, Preservation, Scholarship, or Future of the Game) on our online donation form. These funds are the primary means in which SABR will fund new projects for the organization.
Plus, there are some great incentives for contributing during our Give Local campaign.
