2024 SABR Local Grant update: The Impact of the MLB Pitch Clock
MAY 8, 2024 — Scott Lehrfeld, Zeyu Jin, and Naga Sai Venkata Srinesh Chowdary Kommana of George Washington University were the recipients of a SABR Local Grant in 2024 for their Capstone Research Analytics Project on “The Impact of the MLB Pitch Clock.”
Through SABR’s Schott-Pelican Chapter in New Orleans, the students each received a one-year student SABR membership and a one-year subscription to FanGraphs to help sponsor their research.

Justin Soniat, a member of the Schott-Pelican Chapter and a George Washington University alumnus, was the volunteer sponsor for the team, providing technical and content guidance. The students delivered their presentation at the Schott-Pelican Chapter meeting on April 27, 2024.
