Announcing featured speakers at the 2023 SABR Analytics Conference
FEBRUARY 3, 2023 — SABR is excited to announce new featured panels for the 2023 SABR Analytics Conference. The conference, which is open to all baseball fans, is scheduled for March 10-12, 2023, at the Beus Center for Law and Society on Arizona State University’s Downtown Phoenix Campus in Phoenix, Arizona.

2023 Rules Changes panel:
- Dallas Braden, former major-league pitcher and Oakland A’s television analyst
- Kyle Glaser, who covers Major League Baseball and top prospects for Baseball America
- Rob Mains, writer for Baseball Prospectus
- Bobby Scales, Vice President, Baseball at Sports Info Solutions and former major-leaguer
Projection Systems panel:
- Ari Kaplan, founder of AriBall and MLB front office executive for more than three decades
- Jake Schuster, founder and CEO at Gemini Sports Analytics
- Meg Rowley, Managing Editor, FanGraphs
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning panel:
- Brian Hall, founder, Tidal Quantitative Research
- Allison R. Levin, Webster University professor and co-chair of SABR’s AI/Machine Learning Research Committee
- David Loving, Machine Learning Engineer, Sage
- Stuart Neilson, data scientist working on risk models in the banking industry

The Analytics Conference schedule consists of research presentations and guest speakers from throughout the baseball analytics community, career development sessions led by experienced sports professionals, and industry networking opportunities — all available for any aspiring front office executive or baseball fan to attend. Students will have opportunities for skill acquisition and development, including sessions on how to work with baseball-related data sets as well as databasing and SQL.

Early-bird registration is $395 for SABR members, $495 for non-members, and $150 for currently enrolled high school or college students. After February 17, regular registration is $545 for SABR members, $645 for non-members. Student-only virtual registration is $50.
- Student Registration: Students should email Scott Carter with a photo of their student ID to receive a special link to register at a discounted rate laden with extra benefits. Students have the option of choosing virtual ($50) or in-person ($150) registration. Both include access to General Session panels and presentations on Friday, March 10 through Sunday, March 12, and a student-only virtual session on Thursday, March 9. All student registrations also include a complimentary one-year SABR membership ($25 value) and a complimentary Rapsodo certification course ($395 value).
