On Saturday, January 29th, Baseball Prospectus and the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) will join together to present an unforgettable day of baseball at legendary Foley’s Pub and Restaurant in New York City.
The event will feature an afternoon’s worth of spirited discussions from your favorite Baseball Prospectus personalities including Kevin Goldstein, Steven Goldman, Jay Jaffe and more as we celebrate SABR Day with our brethren Marc Appleman, Vince Gennaro, and some of the most recognized baseball writers, historians, and analysts from the Society of American Baseball Research. The summit is one of more than 30 SABR Day events being held across the country as a means of celebrating SABR and all things baseball. A complete list of all SABR Day events is online at the SABR website.
Also joining us on January 29th will be Gary Cohen of SNY (New York Mets broadcaster), Newsday baseball writer Ken Davidoff, Cory Schwartz from MLB.com, and other surprise guests you’ll just have to see for yourself!
We’re still fine tuning all the details, but the program will run from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. and will focus on the history of the game, scouting and player development, statistics, technology, media, and current events. There will also be plenty of question and answer sessions with our panelists.
Admission is just $20 per person, and the price includes a buffet of hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, fries and unlimited soda. There will also be plenty of free giveaways and prizes!
So if you’re looking to warm your heart with baseball on a cold winter day, be sure to reserve your spot now. Just click the link below. Tickets must be purchased in advance and only 75 will be sold.
