2024 Jerry Malloy Negro League Conference

SABR’s Negro Leagues Research Committee will host the Jerry Malloy Negro League Conference, which will be held on June 6-9, 2024, at the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. In addition to two days of research presentations and player/author panels, attendees will also enjoy special presentations about lesser known Black baseball stories and a chance to see the new Black Baseball exhibit: “The Souls of the Game: Voices of Black Baseball.”

This interdisciplinary conference welcomes proposals for oral and poster presentations from all research fields. Previous presenters have included college faculty, public school teachers, graduate students, and independent scholars.

Presentations may focus on any topic related to the theme, or other Black baseball topics. Some possibilities include Bud Fowler and Cooperstown, barnstorming in New York, Black baseball in North Dakota, Brooklyn Royal Giants, Chino Smith, Fats Jenkins, Jim Robinson and so much more. Proposals should include a 250-word abstract, plus a brief biographical note with contact information. For poster presentations, please indicate the number and size of posters you wish to display.
