From Jim Hand at The Sun Chronicle on February 9, 2016, with mention of SABR member Ty Waterman:
Ty Waterman of Attleboro was a big Brooklyn Dodgers fan when he was a boy growing up in Connecticut.
He even got to see Jackie Robinson play.
So, it broke his heart when his team moved to Los Angles in 1957.
“I felt pretty upset as a child,” he said.
Last year, some of those old feelings came creeping back.
Now a season-ticket holder with the Pawtucket Red Sox, Waterman looked on with dread as new team owners announced plans to build an expensive new stadium in Providence and move the Sox there.
Waterman said he felt like the new owners had turned their backs on the fans.
