Last call: Sign up for 2014 baseball tour of Cuba

This is a final call for SABR members interested in joining the 2014 Cubaball tour.

A few hundred SABR members have partipated in the tour since the first trip in 2001. The 2014 tour is scheduled for February 14-22 and will feature National Series game, meetings with players and league officials, visits to historic sites including La Tropical (see The National Pastime #25) and the baseball monuments at Havana’s Cristobal Colon cemetery. The highlight will be a vist with 102-year-old Conrado “Connie” Marrero at his Havana home.

Peter Bjarkman, SABR’s foremost expert on the Cuban game, will again be on the tour and we will be accompanied by Enriquito Diaz, who is the all-time National Series leader in games, at-bats, runs, hits, triples and stolen bases.
