Mains: Quality starts out of the bullpen

The 2018 World Series may have lacked somewhat for drama, but there were some fine pitching performances. According to Bill James’ “game score,” the top game was Walker Buehler’s start in Game 3, during which he went seven innings, allowing two hits, no walks, and no runs, striking out seven. That earned a game score of 80.
Next best was Rich Hill’s start in Game 4, in which he allowed one hit, three walks, and one run in 6 1/3 innings, striking out seven, a 71 game score. He departed the game with a 4-0 lead that, six batters and three relievers later, the Dodgers had relinquished.
That was followed by David Price’s series-clinching win: Seven innings, three hits, two walks, a run, five strikeouts, game score of 70.
