New Jersey and Tampa Bay Members Form Two New SABR Chapters
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Since its inception in 1971, SABR has relied heavily on the spirit of volunteerism and the love of the game from its members to fulfill its mission. With the formation of two new SABR chapters in New Jersey and Tampa Bay, it is a clear indication that this spirit is not only still alive within the organization…it’s thriving.

With the formation of two new SABR chapters in New Jersey and Tampa Bay, it is a clear indication that this spirit is not only still alive within the organization…it’s thriving.
New Jersey SABR held its first organizational meeting in August. Twenty-five members attended and chapter chair Sam Bernstein put together a leadership group which included several committee chairs.

In Florida, chapter leader Wesley Fricks announced that their chapter will be named after Tampa Bay native and recent Hall of Fame inductee Wade Boggs.
The Wade Boggs Chapter of Tampa Bay held their initial meeting at Tropicana Field on September 11. According to Fricks, the chapter hopes to focus its research efforts on topics such as spring training.
