Many SABR members and the general public recently gathered together for a special program celebrating the Fiftieth Anniversary of Jack Graney’s last broadcast on September 27, 1953. The program included many lively presenters such as Ted Patterson, author of The Golden Voices of Baseball. The program was presented by October Productions under the helm of SABR Member Morris Eckhouse.

A booklet produced exclusively for the event entitled The Graney Generation: A Celebration of the Life and Careers of Jack Graney is now available through October Productions. Articles include “Jack Gladstone Graney: A Chronology” by Fred Schuld and “Baseball Brodcast in Cleveland Since Jack Graney: “The Times They are a Changin'” by Peggy Beck among many others. Ever the busy baseball man, Eckhouse also hosts a weekly radio show on WERE 1300 AM in Cleveland called, “The Magical Baseball History Tour” every Thursday at 6pm. Some of his guests have included SABR Executive Director John Zajc and SABR member Dixie Tourangeau.
