SABR chapters honored for exceptional performance in 2023-24
AUGUST 10, 2024 — At the SABR 52 Closing Ceremonies in Minneapolis, SABR CEO Scott Bush recognized nearly 20 regional chapters whose performance in the past year exceeded SABR’s standards.
Under the guidance of SABR Chapter Liaison Pete Cottrell, SABR’s 85 chapters began working to further improve their operations by prescribing guidelines for governance, recruitment, research projects, and more.
The eight chapters below were recognized as SABR’s MVP chapters in 2023-24, and they will receive a $500 cash prize for their efforts:
- Baltimore Babe Ruth Chapter (Baltimore, MD)
- Emil Rothe Chicago Chapter (Chicago, IL)
- Jack Graney Chapter (Cleveland, OH)
- Hank Gowdy Chapter (Columbus, OH)
- Halsey Hall Chapter (Minneapolis, MN)
- Schott-Pelican Chapter (New Orleans, LA)
- Casey Stengel Chapter (New York, NY)
- Ted Williams Chapter (San Diego, CA)
The 11 chapters honored as All-Star chapters in the past year were:
- Rogers Hornsby Chapter (Austin, TX)
- Central Illinois Chapter (Bloomington/Normal, IL)
- Rocky Mountain Chapter (Denver, CO)
- Larry Dierker Chapter (Houston, TX)
- Pee Wee Reese Chapter (Louisville, KY)
- Bud Metheny/Virginia Eastern Shore Chapter (Norfolk, VA)
- Clyde Sukeforth Northern New England Chapter (NH/ME)
- Dusty Baker-Sacramento Chapter (Sacramento, CA)
- Tampa Bay Roush-Lopez Chapter (Tampa/St. Petersburg, FL)
- Hanlan’s Point Chapter (Toronto, ON)
- Bob Davids Chapter (Washington, DC)
