SABR in Vancouver

On August 10, 2003, thirty one SABR members and guests attended a Saturday SABR meeting at the BC Sports Hall of Fame in Vancouver.  The main feature of the meeting was a superb video presentation of baseball in Vancouver.  Colin Preston of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation compiled about two hours of video.  The main feature was the last two innings of a 1956 PCL game between the Vancouver Mounties and the Sacremento Solons.  The game clip was followed by about twenty minutes of  locker room interviews with Ryne Duren, Lefty O’Dou

There was much much more to the video presentation, including colour highlights of the 1957 season, with shots of most of the visiting teams.  Coverage was also present of the plight of the Mariners in the 1980s and early 1990s, and the efforts to try and get some regular season games played in BC Place Stadium.
