SABR Journal of Baseball Arts is now accepting submissions

Want to contribute to a new SABR publication dedicated to Baseball and the Arts?

We already have publications dedicated to historical and analytical research, but now we’re unveiling a new SABR Journal of Baseball Arts, which will feature the best of literature, art, and memoir, written by and for SABR members. The national game is loaded with great content that includes more than a century of great writing. Of course, there’s a large library of books — novels, histories, and artwork that have enhanced our appreciation of baseball — and now we will provide a venue to show what great wealth of baseball writing there is among our membership.

We will include contemporary works mixed with masterpieces from the past. We encourage submissions of art, poetry, fiction, memoir, and all musings about baseball. So if you are thinking about a short story, or have one in the works and are looking for a place to publish it, here’s the place for you. The length of a story should be less than 5,000 words, and artwork should be original and baseball-related.

Get to work on your masterpiece and when done, email it to artsjournal@sabr.org so our team of peer reviewers and editors can take a look. We encourage all members of SABR to consider the Journal of Baseball Arts as a place to express their love and devotion to the national game.

Email your proposals, finished work, or any questions to artsjournal@sabr.org. We will advise you of the progress and acceptance of your work, and once we have an optimal accumulation of contributions, we will announce the publication date of the inaugural issue.
