The left-hander known as “Sweet Music” recorded 176 wins in the major leagues from 1982 through 1996, including 20-win seasons in both leagues with the Minnesota Twins and New York Mets. He earned three All-Star selections, World Series MVP honors in 1987, and a Cy Young Award in 1988.
