SABR Staff Holds Open House in Phoenix, Arizona
The SABR staff celebrated the organization’s recent move to Phoenix, Arizona, with an open house for Flame Delhi Chapter members and guests on May 6, 2011 at our new office location, 4455 E. Camelback Rd, Ste. D-140.
About two dozen visitors took a tour of the office, met and talked with the staff for the first time, and went home with some giveaway books, programs and magazines.
Bob Flynn, SABR member and expat Mets fan living in Chandler, Arizona, showed off his ringtone — Bob Murphy’s call of the “Buckner play” from the 1986 World Series — and Steve Steinberg — recent co-winner of the Seymour Medal with Lyle Spatz for 1921: The Yankees, the Giants, and the Battle for Baseball Supremacy in New York — stopped by while in town visiting from Seattle. Dan Even came all the way from Asbury, Iowa.
Other members in attendance included: Jon Willford, Phil Bolda, Jeff Cade, Michael Zolno, Mort Bloomberg, Mike Hanks, Richard and Barbara McGee and Ben Norris.
Anyone interested in visiting the SABR office at any time, please call (602) 343-6455.
