Sarris: Braves’ young duo of Acuña and Albies even more impressive in context

You’ve probably heard about how young Ozzie Albies and Ronald Acuña are. The two Braves atop the lineup are the two youngest position players in baseball right now, and that’s already meaningful for their outcomes when it comes to how much they will produce and how likely they are to make the Hall of Fame.

But that’s just about their personal, individual legacies. It’s extremely rare to have two players this young hit one-two on top of the lineup, and that’s meaningful for the Braves’ team-building progress. Only one such duo has been younger since free agency started in 1974, and it’s an interesting parallel for Atlanta’s pair. So, too, is the rest of the list of young tandem table-setters.
