In honor of Mike Trout’s new 12-year, $430 million extension with the Angels, it makes sense to detail some of the ways that he is awesome. What better way than to pick one per year of this historic new deal? Really, though, the craziest aspect of these 12 facts is that they don’t quite capture the full spectrum of his greatness.
As much as we can see just from watching Angels games — that linebacker body with the speed of a safety, the agility of a star power forward playing on a diamond, and all the swag one body can communicate — it’s still instructive to lay out all the different parts of Trout’s game that rank elite.
