It was going to be one of the greatest days of his life. Jim Odenkirk had a ticket to watch his beloved Cleveland Indians in the fifth game of the 1954 World Series.
Only one problem. The Tribe, winners that season of a then-major league record 111 games — remarkable, given there were only 154 regular season games — got swept in four games by the New York Giants.
