Womack: HOF president Idelson ‘very comfortable’ with election process

The dust has settled on another season of voting for the Baseball Hall of Fame, and its president Jeff Idelson can finally do something he says he hasn’t done in 18 years: take a sick day.

Idelson’s been president of the Hall of Fame since 2008 and has worked there since 1994. He’s a busy guy, doing everything from fundraising to helping develop exhibits at the the museum to appearing a few weeks ago on MLB Network to announce the results of the Baseball Writers’ Association of America’s vote.

Last week, though, a day after his first sick day in 18 years, Idelson made time for a wide-ranging discussion with Sporting News about the state of the Hall of Fame.
