Description
Color slide of Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth, Tris Speaker, and Wally Pipp (waist up), 1921 W551 strip cards. The pictures in the slide are artist's drawings depicting each of the players in the strip. Cobb is in mid-swing with his right hand near the knob of the bat and his left hand above the right in partial view. Ruth is in profile with his left side visible. Pipp has his left shoulder pulled around as if swinging (hands cannot be seen). Speaker is partially cut off, but looks to be swinging with his right arm cocked. There are tears at the bottom of the strip. The tears cut off the upper left and lower corners. Two notches are torn away on the words below Cobb and Pipp, partially obscuring the wording. The far right of the strip is missing, obscuring half of Speaker. The words "Strip card" are written on the physical slide.
