Description
A color slide of a 1954 calendar with artwork by William Medcalf. The illustration shows a generic boy sliding into a base on his left side with his right foot extending straight out. He is wearing a white baseball uniform with red piping and stirrups. Ty Cobb is crouching over the boy and appears to be making the beginning motions of a safe signal with his hands. He is wearing a Detroit Tigers home uniform. Behind him is a faded newspaper with the headline "Ty Cobb steals 96 babes modern major league record" At the bottom of the calendar are more illustrated newspaper clippings and Cobb's Hall of fame plaque. The advertising company attached to the calendar is G.M. Foote Lumber Co. Information written on the physical slide reads, "calendar"
