A 1978 1948 Bowman reprint baseball card of Willard Marshall. The back of card number 13 in the set reads, "13 - Willard Marshall Right Fielder - N. Y. Giants Born : Richmond, Va. Feb. 8, 1921 Bats : Left Throws : Right Height : 6 : 00 Weight : 190 He fill shoes of two of the greatest of all Giant picket men. Mel Ott and Ross Youngs and promises to fill them adequately. Three of his years on the GIants' roster were spent in the Marines. He began his career in Atlanta and at once attracted Giant scout attention. Two home runs in his first game at Miami gave him a regular's status from the very start of his big league career.
